Style Auto was founded in 1963 by Fulvio Cinti, who later became the creator and Editor of Auto & Design, still thriving today. The editorial direction of the magazine, published in both Italian and English until 1978 in 37 issues, was later handed over to Mario Dinarich, with the collaboration of photographer Giorgio Bellia. The subtitle Architettura della Carrozzeria anticipated the magazine’s technical and analytical approach, which reached out internationally to professionals in the field and automobile design lovers, thanks to access to unpublished materials and contributions from leading authorities, including Ferruccio Bernabò, Griffith Borgeson, Jules Brac, Etienne Cornil, Pio Manzù, Yar Gregson, and Giorgetto Giugiaro.
